Kedrion Biopharma has long been committed to ensuring that its production facilities operate to the highest environmental standards. This has led Kedrion Biopharma to becoming the first plasma-derivatives company in the world to be awarded the international voluntary EPD® (Enviromental Product Declaration) certification for all the products manufactured at its Bolognana, Italy, production plant. This voluntary certification, based on ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards, focuses on sustainable development, providing transparent, verified and comparable data on the environmental impact of the life cycle of a product or service. <\/p>\n
Obtaining this certification for all the products manufactured at its Bolognana plant is the culmination of a process that began in 2016, the year in which Kedrion’s Factor VIII was awarded its first EPD® certification. In 2017, Kedrion went on to launch a similar study aimed at confirming the validity and sustainability of the Life Cycle Assessment for the Albumin and Immunoglobulins produced in Bolognana.
