Italy donates plasma-derived therapies to Armenia

As part of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for the Economic Cooperation between Italy and Armenia, a Memorandum of Understanding for a technical cooperation in the areas of blood transfusion and hematology was recently undersigned, at the Foreign Ministry in Rome, by CNS (Centro Nazionale Sangue) – the Italian National Blood Center and the Armenian Hematology Center.

The first step in the implementation of this understanding is the donation of 790.000 IU of coagulation factors provided by the Regione Lombardia; this transfer – possible thanks to the technical support offered by Kedrion Biopharma, who will cover shipping costs and manage logistics up to and including delivery – is part of 7th February 2013 agreement between the Italian State and its Regions the aim of which is to promote and implement cooperation agreements for the exportation of plasma-derived therapies for humanitarian purposes. “We are proud, yet again, to be contributing to increase the availability of life-saving plasma-derived therapies” – stated Kedrion’s Italy Country Manager Danilo Medica – “in keeping with the company’s mission to support the Italian Blood System in its objective of ensuring the fullest possible use for the products derived from Italian donors’ plasma”.
