In July, the Italian Region of Sicily donated 1500 vials of Factor VIII manufactured from national plasma (equivalent to 1.5 million International Units) to the Central American State of El Salvador for the treatment of the Country’s hemophilic patients. This donation is part of a national agreement signed in 2013 that establishes a wider alliance between the Italian State and its Regions aimed at promoting and implementing cooperation projects to export Italian plasma derived products for humanitarian purposes.
Standing true to the company’s commitment to support the Italian Blood System to promote donation and ensure that the collected plasma is used ethically and rationally, Kedrion made the donation to El Salvador possible by bearing shipping costs and coordinating logistical aspects and customs procedures to ensure the timely delivery of the Factor VIII shipment.
