Kedrion supports Humanitarian Donation of Factor VIII in Palestine

During 2020, despite the obvious difficulties linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kedrion Biopharma has continued to work alongside the Italian National Blood Center (CNS) and several Italian Regions (Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Calabria and Sicily) on transparent, ethical projects to support disadvantaged countries, including Albania, Afghanistan, Armenia, El Salvador and Palestine.

The latest project, which has just been completed, involved a humanitarian donation of two million International Units of Factor VIII in Palestine. In this instance, the product was made available by the Region of Sicily.

As always, Kedrion prepared the necessary export documentation , in collaboration with the Italian National Blood Center and the Region, and handled the logistics and customs procedures to ensure the speedy delivery of the medicines.

On Thursday, December 2, the Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al Kaila, publicly thanked the Consul General of Italy in Jerusalem, Giuseppe Fedele, and the Director of the Office of the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS) in Jerusalem, Cristina Natoli, for this humanitarian donation. The news was shared by the Consulate of Jerusalem, which recalled that the bottles were donated by the Region of Sicily, in coordination with the National Blood Center of the Italian National Institute of Health, Kedrion Biopharma and the WHO Palestine Office.

“This donation – the Consulate emphasized – is yet another example of the support that for years Italian Cooperation has been guaranteeing for the development of the healthcare sector in Palestine.”
