Research, innovation, and scientific exchange were at the core of the SISET National Congress (Italian Society for the Study of Haemostasis and Thrombosis), held in Bergamo from October 23 to 25, 2025. This biennial event represents a key opportunity for the Italian scientific community to discuss the latest advances in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of bleeding and thromboembolic disorders.
Kedrion, among the sponsors of the Congress, organized — outside the CME program — a Lunch Session moderated by Dr. Ezio Zanon, with contributions from Dr. Chiara Borsotti, Prof. Raimondo De Cristofaro, and Dr. Cristina Olgasi.
“The main focus of this session was to explore the physiological functions of the endogenous factor VIII beyond its well-known hemostatic role. We now know that FVIII can influence endothelial cell function and bone metabolism, by stimulating osteoblast production and contributing to vascular regulation.”
Dr. Ezio Zanon, Head of the Hemophilia Center, University Hospital of Padua
