The new Edison Foundation Report on the FAB‑13 confirms the solidity of the Italian pharmaceutical model: the updated 2024 data, highlighting the growth of exports, revenues, investments, and employment, show how the sector continues to contribute substantially to Italy’s competitiveness in global markets.

The FAB‑13 remain a strategic asset thanks to the 2024 growth in exports (+16%)revenues (+12%)investments (+21%), and skilled employment (+2% in Italy). Together, these results underscore the Italian model’s ability to combine strong territorial roots with an international vision.

In 2024, the production value of multinational and Italian groups affiliated with Farmindustria totaled €56.1 billion, marking an 87% increase compared to 2016, while exports reached €53.8 billion, a 152% rise since 2016. Particularly significant was the growth in exports of high‑technology pharmaceutical products, which increased by 193%. Total investments reached €4 billion, including €2.3 billion allocated to Research and Development (R&D) and €1.7 billion to manufacturing activities (a 38% increase since 2016). Sector employment rose to 67,000 jobs (+12% compared to 2016).

Within this context, Kedrion provides a specific contribution in the field of rare, ultra‑rare, and serious diseases, an area requiring advanced expertise, industrial continuity, and a strong sense of responsibility toward patient communities with complex clinical needs. Through the production of plasma‑derived therapies, the pursuit of new therapeutic solutions, and collaborations with academic and clinical centers, the company works to make essential therapies available – often unique or difficult to replace.

This social commitment is supported by a production model firmly rooted in Italy, enabling investment in expertise, technologies, and scientific partnerships. The result is a contribution that combines industrial value with value for people’s health.
