A dialogue on innovation, local community, and industrial development took place at Kedrion’s production facility in Bolognana, in the province of Lucca, with the participation of Member of the European Parliament Francesco Torselli and Regional Councillor Vittorio Fantozzi.
The day was a valuable opportunity to showcase the main activities of the production site and the complex plasma-derived product manufacturing cycle, which can take up to 12 months from plasma collection to the distribution of medicines. This specificity highlights the complexity of a supply chain that must ensure continuity and safety throughout all stages of the process.
Duccio Manetti, Chief Communication & Institutional Affairs Officer, emphasized: “Our goal is to strengthen Kedrion’s industrial presence in Italy and continue investing in the local area. We are concretely committed to enhancing the local communities and the territory where the company was founded and where its main headquarters are located.”
David Gambelli, Bolognana Site Leader, added: “The Bolognana site plays a strategic role within Kedrion’s global industrial network. Our intention is to make Bolognana an increasingly innovative hub for the development and research of new therapies for rare and ultra-rare diseases.”
The visit is part of Kedrion’s ongoing dialogue with institutions, aimed at promoting innovation, sustainability, and industrial development within the Italian System.
